Rainy nights in Manehatten were not an uncommon occurence, and the citizens were quite used to it, by now. The elder ponies knew to take an umbrella if they were planning on leaving at night, and even for the youngsters or for the newcomers, the soft pink colored clouds at the beginning of the evening were a quick giveaway.
Even so, ponies running in the rain, trying to find a shelter from it, was just as common a sight.
That was the case for a lone stallion who ran down the streets of the big city after coming back from a club a couple of blocks away. His black mane was matted down against his lighter coat as the droplets weighed it down, with the light of the lampposts giving his body a soft, golden hue.
He cursed himself for forgetting about his umbrella, despite his flatmate’s warnings earlier that evening. In hindsight, ignoring him had been a stupid idea.
He sighed. No use complaining about that now, he thought. The best he could do-
A soft blueish glow in the corner of his eye interrupted his thoughts. Curious, the tall stallion dug his hooves against the pavement and stopped in his stracks. It wasn’t the the light of a lamppost. Those had a sort of warm feeling to them while this one was… cool and alien, in a way.
The unicorn frowned once he traced its origin. The light came from an alley, where a—wait.

"What is Celestia’s name is that…?" he muttered to himself, taking a careful step closer.
